早喺1920年代的廣州,百貨公司競爭激烈,
百貨公司廚師每周都會設計一款「星期美點」吸引顧客,蛋撻就係咁響廣州出現嘞。
According to our research, we found that in early 1920s, due to the keen competition of department store located in Guangzhou, those chef started to create different kinds of new dishes weekly, in order to attract more customers. So, egg tarts were introduced to China at that time!

而1940年代起,香港餅店已開始出現蛋撻!
香港地道嘅蛋撻,分左牛油皮同酥皮
牛油蛋撻嘅撻皮較光滑,其實就好似一塊好有牛油香味嘅餅乾。
而酥皮蛋撻撻皮為一層層薄酥皮,
因為用左豬油,口感會有少少粗糙,但就勝在一出爐香到連沙頭角都聞到。

彭定康雖然鐘意泰昌多啲,
不過豪華餅店20幾年歷史,一直由60多歲的周師傅主理,
《酥皮蛋撻》號稱全香港第一,連周潤發都讚不絕口架。
Though egg tarts from Hoover Cake Shop were not Chris Patten's favourite, they still got many fans like Chow Yun-fat, a famous artist in Hong Kong. Their egg tarts can even be known as the most tasty one throughout Hong Kong.
